This 2007 Beneteau Oceanis 323 at £52,500 is a really well looked after and updated example of these popular family cruisers. She has excellent recent sails, and an inventory that includes good electronics, cabin heating and a full cockpit "camper" cover. The interior is in immaculate condition, and the dark blue hull also looks very good indeed. This yacht is the deep keel "Clipper" version with blue hull.

This 2012 Yarmouth 23 at £28,500 is a GRP gaff cutter and was built as a demonstration boat for the builders. She was exhibited at the 2012 and 2013 Southampton Boat Shows. Now in her second private ownership she is for sale as other commitments are giving less and less opportunities for the owner to sail her. She has an uprated 20 hp Beta diesel with very low hours.

At £98,000 a Compromis C34 from Holland, in her original ownership from 2000. This yacht has an interesting inventory that includes in-boom furling and an electric genoa furling gear as well as a bowthruster. With various health issues the owners have now purchased a motor yacht. This is a high quality yacht with many practical details in the design and fitout, set up for ultra-easy handling by a small crew.

This one owner Malo 36 at £138,500 is a really high quality yacht offering an excellent balance of sailing performance, seakeeping and comfortable and beautifully finished accommodation. She has a fixed windscreen aided by clear screens to the "targa" arch, which also neatly contains the mainsheet, giving plenty of protection to the cockpit, with a full cover extension for use in harbour. This is a well looked after boat, that feels bigger than her 36 ft nominal length, both on deck and down below. Afloat in Hampshire.

This sloop rigged 1979 Westerly 33 at £21,500 is a well maintained example of these solid, powerful cruising yachts. In the same ownership for over 25 years, she has been used for family cruising, and the present owner also sailed her in the 2009 OSTAR singlehanded transatlantic race, finishing third in class. She has a good inventory including a full cockpit tent, radar and autopilot, and the hull had a full osmosis treatment in 2017/18. The Westerly Renown is a solidly built family cruiser offering five to six berths in three cabins. This yacht for sale has been in the present ownership for just over 30 years, and is for sale now only because of a bereavement. She has a newly installed (and not yet run in the water) reconditioned Volvo diesel, good sails and canvaswork, including a full cockpit canopy with frame. Ashore in Hampshire.

This Southerly 100 at £44,000 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught modern yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. We sold this yacht to the present owner 10 years ago, and since then he has very comprehensively upgraded and equipped her. She is for sale now only for the owner's health reasons. At £42,500 this is a really well equipped example of a Pretorien 35 from Wauquiez. This yacht is a quality fast cruiser, with an interior in extremely good condition. In the last five years she has had a bowthruster fitted, all new batteries, a Darglow feathering prop fitted, new standing rigging and rod kicker, and a new laminate genoa, plus other work. Although this Moody 36 is over 40 years old she has been immaculately maintained and considerably updated - engine replaced, all cockpit winches changed to self-tailing, bowthruster, good electronics, new upholstery, all Corian worktops, etc. etc. You can probably buy a much cheaper Moody 36 but you are very unlikely indeed to find a better one than this. This Sadler 29 at £16,250 is one of the unsinkable Sadlers, with twin GRP hull skins separated by closed cell foam buoyancy. This yacht is a bilge keel version, offering a lot of versatility in cruising areas, also the option of cheaper shallow moorings. The engine was replaced in 2012, and since then has also had new sails, new self-tailing winches and last year new cabin windows and a new Gori prop and propshaft. Ashore in Hampshire.

This 2007 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i is the preferred "owners" version. This is a shallow fin keel yacht with a very good inventory including excellent sails and a full cockpit "camper " cover. The hull has just had the old antifouling gritblasted off, and is ready for the new owner's preference of Coppercoat or antifouling. Ashore in Hampshire.

This Hunter Legend 356 at £59,500 is an unusual yacht in that she is one of the few genuinely modern twin-keeled family cruisers around. Built by the US based Luhrs Marine in their UK Dorset factory in 2003, she offers a remarkably spacious interior and good sailing performance. Afloat in Hampshire.

A 1998 US-built Hunter Legend 340 with the shallow wing keel option at £47,000. Like most American boats this yacht has a spacious interior with good headroom and a large aft cabin double berth. She has a backstayless Bergstrom rig with a large in-mast furling mainsail sheeted to a cockpit arch and a relatively small headsail keeping sheet loads light. Afloat on the Isle of Wight.

At £49,000 this is a well looked after and late built (1990) Moody 346 with the very useful option of twin bilge keels. The stand-out feature of these models is a very spacious aft cabin with double berth plus sitting space. This yacht has quite recently been re-engined with a 42 hp Sole diesel, more powerful than the original 35 hp Thornycroft. She has a good inventory including recent standing rigging and furling gear. At £51,500 this twin keel British Hunter Channel 31 was the 2003 Boat Show exhibit, and has been in the same ownership from new. She is in extremely good condition, and though quite extensively cruised by the family, has clearly been very well maintained. The hull is coppercoated and she has a Gori feathering prop. She has a good cruising inventory and Eberspacher heating, along with recent standing rigging.

This Sadler 32 is a recent and impressive example, originally designed by David Sadler as the successor to the famously seaworthy Contessa 32. A very capable yacht for use at sea, she sleeps 6 and has a large uncluttered cockpit for use in port.  Registered in 1990, she includes a wide range of kit including radar, Navtex, EPIRB satellite beacon, hypalon dinghy and Tohatsu outboard.

The 2011 Cornish Crabber 26 at £85,000 has good accommodation with 6 foot headroom, and good performance thanks to a David Thomas designed hull with a deep efficient centreboard. This yacht has an excellent inventory with lots of recent replacements and additions. She is afloat in Cornwall.

This 2002 Dufour 36 at £56,000 is a very nicely fitted out modern cruising yacht. This yacht is the three cabin version with the shallow fin keel and in-mast reefing. She appears lightly used and well maintained, and the hull was Coppercoated in 2017. Afloat in Hampshire.

Despite the "Nauticat" name none of the Nauticat designs from Siltala of Finland are catamarans - they are high quality Scandinavian cruising yachts. This Nauticat 37 from 2002 at £185,000 is one of their later models designed for better sailing performance, whilst retaining a beautifully crafted teak interior with a spacious deck saloon. She has an excellent inventory including electric winches and a comprehensive suite of newish Raymarine electronics. Afloat in Cumbria.

This Centurion 40 at £75,000 is a fast, elegant and highly seaworthy cruiser designed by Rob Humphreys and Ed Dubois, built by the quality French manufacturer Henri Wauquiez. Although she has seven berths, she is ideal for two couples, as she has separate heads by the fore and aft cabins. This 1988 example has the optional shallow draught lead bulb keel and an excellent inventory including a silenced diesel genset. Ashore in Hampshire.

This one-owner Bavaria 37 from 2000 at £52,500 is a three cabin version with a conventional battened mainsail and the optional shallow draught (1.35M) keel. This design ticks a lot of boxes for family cruising, with a good inventory including electric windlass, electric halyard winch, and a clean and spacious interior and three separate sleeping cabins without using the saloon.
