A small but quite stylish fast cruiser with the advantage of a lift keel, and a very useful amount of accommodation, the Beneteau First 24 is also trailable with a largish tow vehicle. This 1984 example is well equipped and in good condition, with a good 4-wheel trailer. |

Designed by Groupe Finot, and built from 1982/3 to 1989/90, the Beneteau First 24 is a small fast cruiser or club racer, with good accommodation for her size, including a separate double aft cabin.
The design was built with either a fixed fin keel of 4' 0" draught, or a pivoting centreboard giving a draught of about 2' 7" raised, and about 5' 3" down. The centreboard does not fully retract into the hull, making the interior much more usable, but means that if dried out on a hard bottom she will lean over.
Only outboard power was offered, with a well in the cockpit for the engine. The usual engine size is between 6 and 9 hp.
