This is a high volume
family cruiser with a very spacious interior for her length. After
six years of ownership and steady upgrading, this yacht is for sale
as the owner is looking to move up to a much larger yacht. She has
a good engine, recent sails, nearly new upholstery and headlining,
and a good inventory.

In the 1970s/80s Colvic was one of the largest
moulders of GRP yacht hulls in England, the bare hulls being
then sold on both to professional yacht builders, and to DIY
home finishers. The Horizon 28 was one of the several versions
of the Countess 28 built professionally, and sold under the
builders own name.
The Countess 28 was designed in 1979 by Ian Anderson as
a comfortable, solid cruising yacht. There are few other 28-footers,
even now, with as much interior space.
Both fin keel and twin bilge keel versions were produced,
this being a bilge keel example, with the present owner fitting
extra protection to the keel bases in the form of external
hardwood 'shoes'.
The Beta diesel was installed in 1994. There is engine access
both from inside the companionway, and by removing a screwed down
panel in the forward part of the cockpit sole - this view being
through this cockpit access.
With interior space to equal more expensive yachts such as Westerly
Konsorts, and so much done to this yacht over the past few years,
this is a very attractive proposition as a small cruiser. She
is priced to sell, as the owner has identified a larger yacht
he would like to buy....
