From the 1950s Seamaster Ltd. was one of the leading builders of GRP motorboats in the UK, and they later expanded their range to include a series of sailing yachts, using top designers including Laurent Giles and Holman & Pye. Seamasters always had a good reputation for build quality.

Designed by Holman & Pye in 1972, the Seamaster 925 design was first introduced as the Seamaster 28 before being slightly altered, and renamed the Seamaster 925, of which 137 were built.

The design was in many ways ahead of its time, giving more interior space than most competing British yachts whilst retaining Seamasters high build quality.
