The aft cabin and en-suite aft heads are accessed from the saloon,
via a low passageway on the starboard side, with a large sail
locker outboard. This passageway also gives access to the engine
room.
|
 |
The Volvo main engine has access from both sides, and an access
hatch above in the cockpit sole. The engine room also contains
a Fischer Panda silenced 4Kw diesel generator set, which was fitted
new in 2002
|
 |
 |
As well as a double berth and seating, the aft cabin has a single
seaberth, with stowage outboard behind the blue canvas cover.
|
 |
The saloon table drops to form another
large double berth if required. |
Below: She has up to date instruments,
most having been renewed in 2001, including a Raymarine radar and
large screen colour chartplotter, and Icom SSB and DSC VHF radios. |

is the passageway through to the aft cabin, with sail locker outboard
(photo below) |
 |
Below: Forward heads compartment.
This heads has a holding tank, which was installed when the boat
was new, but has never been used as a tank (it has been used as
stowage space, but could easily be put into use as a tank again) |

the Caribbean
Below: Photographs August 2007
|
|
The entire rig was replaced in 2001,
and she had new teak decking laid throughout in 2004 - this being
a proper thickness of teak, not a thin veneer vas in many modern
production boats |
 |
 |

|
She has a low fixed windscreen, as
seen on Hallberg Rassys, over which a sprayhood fits. The cockpit
has gates on either side to allow easy passage from cockpit to deck
at anchor, yet providing high deep coamings at sea.
In these photos from August 2007 the decks
are just drying after being washed down |
|
It is rare to find a long-distance cruiser that is in her original
ownership after more than 25 years, or one on which so much has
been spent to update and maintain her. She has a massive inventory,
and is absolutely ready to go, including pilot books and charts
(both paper and electronic) of the Caribbean!
