A fast cruiser-racer from Beneteau, this First 27,7 has an electric lifting keel and beaching legs to allow use of drying moorings. She has a Yanmar diesel, a very good racing sail inventory including a new furling Code Zero assymetric, and the hull and keel have been professionally faired in 2006.

The Beneteau First 27.7 was designed for Beneteau by Groupe Finot in 2002, and is virtually a miniature replica of their Open 50 and Open 60 racing designs.

She has a deep lead-bulbed keel which gives 7 feet draught down, and lifts with an electric winch to give a keel-up draught of just two feet. The interior is fairly spartan, but suitable for fast cruising on shorter, marina-hopping passages.

'Yachting Monthly' boat tested the First 27.7 in their October 2003 issue, and their tester reported that she was "....the best boat I have sailed this year", and "....exhilarating and responsive to sail".

This is a very high performance boat - the designer's VPP (velocity prediction program) indicates hullspeed peaking at over 16 knots - see the polar diagrams here from Groupe Finot

The deep bulbed fin keel is lifted by an electrically operated hydraulic pump to give a draught of two feet with keel raised.

This yacht has collapsible aluminium legs which allow her to stand upright on a drying mooring if needed.

The boat has upgraded genoa (Harken 32) and halyard (Harken 16) winches, plus a twin foil headstay with removable drum, and a number of other upgrades on the standard First 27.7 specification

Although definitely a racing boat (and thus with a very full complement of sails, the accommodation is actually surprisingly good (if the sails are left on deck overnight). She has a good aft double berth, plus a smaller double forward and two settee berths. A useful galley, a proper chart table, and the heads compartment complete the accommodation
