Above: All the windows have been
replaced recently with laminated glass, and all hatches have been
fitted with new acrylic and re-seated. The saloon settees are each
76" long
All the interior linings have been professionally replaced - sorting
out the common Westerly problem of sagging headlinings.
The two sides of the "vee" in the forecabin are each about
78" long. Made into a double it is 74" fore and aft, and
78" wide at the aft end.

On the starboard side, opposite
the heads, is a double cabin. Although the berth is 78" long,
it is on the narrow side for a double at 42". The foot of the
berth extends back under the interior steering position and starboard
saloon settee |

Aft in the saloon is a step down to port with chart table with
swing-out seat, and a single passage berth, opposite which is
a truly enormous storage locker

The 1000 watt generator seen here in the interior storage locker
is not included on the inventory

The engine is under the saloon cabin
sole, with very good access all round. The original Volvo diesel
was replaced by a 45 hp Lombardini diesel in 1998. This engine has
to date run just under 230 hours. |
|
| The cockpit has a full 'camper' style cover,
which can be removed in sections to leave just a sprayhood, or sprayhood
plus bimini cover. The cockpit also has raised seating with cushions
aft of the wheel, as well as normal cockpit cushions. |

The Dynafurl rig has a mainsail
set on a roller furling gear mounted juts aft of the mast, allowing
the ease of in-mast furling without the problems of jamming that
such systems have been known to be prone to. |

Whilst few would call the Westerly Vulcan a pretty or elegant
yacht, she does have a great deal going for her - this really is
one of the biggest 34-footers around, and with a powerful diesel
and twin keels she is very versatile. This one owner boat is now
reluctantly for sale only because of the owners age. |
