This 1986 Konsort
is one of the very few Konsorts with wheel steering, reportedly
fitted from new as a non-standard modification. She has a good inventory
including radar, hot water, hot-air heating, dinghy and outboard,
and the hull had a full professional osmosis treatment two years
ago. She is for sale now because the owner has already bought a
larger boat. |

The Westerly Konsort was designed by Laurent
Giles as a mid-sized boat between the 26 foot Centaur and
the Longbow/Berwick/Pentland 31 foot range. She was introduced
in 1979, and remained in production until 1992/93, with over
800 built.
The Konsort rapidly overtook the larger boats in popularity,
as with 15 inches more beam she offered virtually as much
space in a cheaper package. From the mid-80s however, prices
increased significantly, and by 1992 the boat was selling
at over £50,000, and becoming uncompetitive with cheaper
imports.
The Konsort is a stiff boat that is often regarded as slightly
undercanvassed in light winds, although overall she is not
slow. 'Yachting Monthly' reported in their boat test ".......her
ability to keep up respectable speeds in all weather will
prove no less embarrassing to many a sleeker, but more demanding
cruiser" and "....The Konsort is amazingly
stiff. When most boats are struggling with reefs, the Konsort
hangs on, whilst at all times the helm retains that legendary
docility that is difficult to abuse".
