This example was re-engined in 2004 with a new Beta diesel which has run just 40 hours to date, and a useful inventory including dinghy and outboard. The hull was grit blasted and epoxied in 2004. It would be possible to have the use of the mooring for up to two years for this yacht

The Halcyon 23 was based on a 1960 design by Alan Buchanan called the Crystal, which in 1967 was modified by Alan Buchanan for Offshore Yachts Ltd. to become the Halcyon 23. The design had a choice of fin or twin keels, this being the fin keeled version, with a bulbed iron fin keel.

The hulls were moulded by Seamaster Boats of Essex, to Lloyds standards, each hull having a Lloyds moulding certificate. The hull has a firm turn to the bilge, and together with the substantial ballast keel, this gives good stability for a small yacht.
