A classic long-keeled cruiser, the Trintella 29 is a tough and very seaworthy offshore cruiser that is capable of fast passages. Internally her slim hull restricts accommodation, but she does have good headroom in a simple but practical interior. This 1974 boat has been in the same ownership for 16 years. |

The Trintella 29 is otherwise known as the Trintella I, there being a series of other Trintellas from II to V, plus many other larger yachts bearing the name with lengths 38, 40 and 42.
Trintella 29s/Is were designed by E. G. Van de Stadt, and built first in Holland and then in the UK, with almost 100 of the UK-built Trintella 29s sold, before Offshore Yachts was effectively closed down by a fire at the yard in 1975.
The design is a classic long-keeler
with iron ballast encapsulated in the keel moulding. They are well known for seaworthiness, many having made long ocean passages.
When built the usual engine was an 8 hp Sabb with 10 hp as a more powerful option, though by now most, including this yacht, have been re-engined with more modern and more powerful engines.
