A modern style small family cruiser from Jeanneau, this is quite a rare boat in the UK. She offers clean light modern accommodation, with up to six berths, though six in any 30-footer is always crowded. This 1994 example has the shallow draught wing keel, and is fitted with beaching legs. She has radar and relatively new sails.

The Sun Odyssey 30 was introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 1990-93 Sun Odyssey 31 model. Unusually, instead of using a French designer, the Sun Odyssey 30 was designed for Jeanneau by Tony Castro. The design was built to fill a gap in the size ranges Jeanneau were offering between 28 and 32-footers, and was intended as being a slightly higher performance yacht than previous Sun Odyssey models.

Several keel options were built, deep fin, shallow winged fin, or lifting keel, this yacht having the shallow winged fin keel. More of these were sold in France than in the UK, the design continuing in production until being superceded by the Sun Odyssey 29.2/32.2 series boats in around 1997.

These earlier 1990s era Jeanneaus have more solid wood in the interiors than the newer designs, making for a rather nice saloon. The saloon is particularly well ventilated with two opening ports forward.

The forecabin has a vee-double berth, but one of the compromises inherent in putting quite a spacious saloon into a 30-foot hull is that with the forecabin infill in place, the standing room is lost - see photo and accommodation plan below.

The saloon has particularly good ventilation thanks to the twin opening ports forward

The strap fittings on the chart table are to hold down a Toshiba laptop computer,
not shown in this photo but included in the inventory. This has Tsunamis charting sotware,
and a NASA Navtex engine is fitted, which will work to give weather data with the laptop
