Gibert Marine was founded in 1972, initially as a builder of small keelboats. They soon progressed to being a major builder of cruising-orientated yachts. Gib'Seas have always featured simply fitted but very practical interiors, on well built hulls.

By the mid 1990s the company was struggling to compete as an independent builder with the larger and more highly automated productions of Beneteau, and Gibert Marine were taken over by Dufour, who continued to produce a range of yachts under the Gib'Sea name.

The Gib'Sea 352 was designed in 1988 by Michel Joubert and Bernard Nivelt, as a replacement model for the earlier Gib'Sea 105/106 design. The 352 remained in production for about five years. There were two interior options, a "Master" version with a single large aft cabin, and two keel options, shallow at 4 ft or deeper at 5' 7". This yacht is the shallow draught "Master" version.
