This is a well looked after and late built (1990) Moody 346 with the very useful option of twin bilge keels. The stand-out feature of these models is a very spacious aft cabin with double berth plus sitting space. This yacht has quite recently been re-engined with a 42 hp Sole diesel, more powerful than the original 35 hp Thornycroft. She has a good inventory including recent replacement standing rigging.

Sailplan

The Moody 346 was introduced in June 1986 as an update to the Moody 34, itself a modernised replacement for the old Angus Primrose designed Moody 33/333 range. These Dixon-designed models were considerably sleeker looking than the earlier Primrose designs, yet retained all the virtues of interior space and good sailing performance. The interior fit-out of the 34 and 346 was also to a significantly better standard than the earlier 33s, which used a lot of plastic laminates instead of wood.

The Moody 34 and 346 are virtually identical, except that the 346 has a transom bathing/boarding platform. The Moody 346 continued in production until mid-1990, proving one of the most successful designs for the company. This yacht is one of the last built in 1990.

In a group review of similar sized cruising boats in 2008, 'Yachting Monthly' summarised her as ".... Her design strengths are those of Moodys generally - space, a stunning aft cabin, safe, easy handling and average cruising performance".
